DISA High-Pressure Slurry Ablation (HPSA) is not a magic treatment that can “clean” uranium waste. Call To Action: Speak Up for Clean Air! Speak Up for the HEEI Rule!
Attend the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Air Quality Control Board Meeting, TOMORROW Wednesday, January 14th at 5:30 PM and give public comment. Sign up for public comment by 5PM tomorrow.
The Albuquerque Environmental Health Department will be making a presentation to the Air Board on Best Available Control Technology (BACT) that industry is required to use to reduce emissions under the HEEI Rule.
The Mountain View Coalition and NMELC are urging community members who fought long and hard for the HEEI Rule to speak up during public comment, as we have many questions about this process. Implementing and enforcing BACT is the heart of the HEEI and how EHD does so could mean the difference between sensible public health policy and another empty promise.
We will be sharing talking points later today, so watch this space.
When: Wednesday, January 14th at 5:30 PM
Where: Basement Hearing Room, Plaza del Sol Building, 600 Second Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 or over zoom
